However, I trust you'll manage to figure it out. In the past, I looked at updating our default CAD font from the default 'font' to a more appealing/modern style, like Arial or similar. In a brand new drawing, the font always displays properly, and plots as searchable text in a PDF.
#Arial font style how to#
AFAICT, there are two separate issues that need to get resolved: (a) How to inform the front-end/editor that you wish to compile your document with LuaLaTeX (or XeLaTeX) rather than with pdfLaTeX and (b) how to modify the tex file so that you can use the system fonts called Arial and Arial Narrow. I always add a line of text at the top of the drawing that identifies what the product is, using a defined Text Style called Arial, which of course uses the arial.ttf font.
